R&D update: Australian Greenlife Group - streamlining operations with GIA support
19 June 2025
For Quality Indoor Foliage (QIF), aligning its three production nurseries to the same high standard was about more than just consistency – it was about credibility, risk reduction and future-proofing the business.
When CEO Matt de Ville joined Australian Greenlife Group in 2021, only one of QIF’s three sites, Ningi in Queensland, held NIASA, EcoHort and BioSecure HACCP accreditation. The others were close, but not there yet.
“We wanted to make sure every nursery we operate meets the same benchmark,” Matt says.
“Our customers need confidence that we’re delivering consistently, no matter which site their plants come from.”
With support from Greenlife Industry Australia (GIA) Extension Officer Barry Naylor, QIF brought its NSW sites at Alstonville and Coffs Harbour up to speed by streamlining systems, digitising processes, and preparing for formal accreditation.
“Accreditation is about much more than a tick in the box,” Matt says.
“It sharpens our practices, strengthens our reputation and shows customers we’re serious about quality and standards.”
Barry’s support included helping implement GIA’s Audit Management System to track pesticide inventory and reduce manual paperwork, while on-site training brought staff into the process.
“Barry understands the day-to-day reality of running nurseries, so his training really connects with the team,” Matt says.
“It’s relatable and makes the standards feel real – not theoretical.”
With stronger systems, aligned processes and accreditation underway, QIF is well placed to manage biosecurity risks and maintain strong relationships with major national customers.
