Burro in action
On Friday 27 July, nursery staff gathered at the Malrborough Nursery to learn more about the technology available for farms and nurseries.
An autonomous robot platform, Burro is demonstrating how useful technology can be for growers. Burro robots are designed to work alongside people, to improve productivity, and save you time and money. Plus – they require no set–up time, take–down time or infrastructure. Several Burro robots working together can increase plant movement from point A to point B by 28%! They're also equipped with computer vision, AI, and precision GPS. They're designed for carrying harvests, towing, mowing (in development), scouting, spraying and patrolling.
Demo day attendees saw that with Burro, there's no need to manually relocate plants from point to point. They can simply be loaded onto Burro’s stable platform and set a drop zone. When they arrive, the recipient can unload the plants and return Burro for another trip. Hundreds of Burro robots are used across three continents in nurseries, vineyards and fruit farms. Your business could be the next to adopt the technology
We're excited to bring more demonstration days to production nurseries around the country in the coming months – so watch this space!
