Updated Wise about Water Point of Sale available for download

The drought affecting areas of southern and eastern Australia is impacting so many farming communities and rural and regional businesses, including Members of our industry.

NGIA is encouraging the sensible use of water on greenlife and reminding Australians that their gardens need less water than they think. This is a great time for the industry to consider water use in business and to help customers understand how they can help.

With the issue at its most pressing across NSW, NGIA and NGINA are working together to ensure that the nursery industry nationally and regionally is equipped to respond to concerns around water use for greenlife greenspaces.

It is our role to ensure that as a united industry, we work to prevent the confusion, uncertainty, and educate the community about how best apply water in gardens and containers. We also need to remind our community that greenlife and greenspaces are not only desirable but also valuable for their contributions to:-

o Cooler cities
o Health and wellbeing
o Workplace productivity
o Water management
o Community connection
o Clean air
o Local commerce

Invitations have been sent to the NSW Minister for the Environment, Local Government and Heritage the Hon. Gabrielle Upton as well as Sydney Water to meet with Industry to hear about the our water management policies and practices. We will keep you informed of the outcomes of these invitations.
